Getting to and from the Camino

Practical arrival information for CaminoFinder’s currently published starting and joining points, plus onward travel from Santiago de Compostela.

These pages name airports, stations and official operators. They do not list times or fares. Check current services with the operator before you travel.

CaminoFinder currently covers five hubs. The Camino Francés is mapped from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago. Sarria is a joining point on that route, not its beginning. The Camino Inglés has two starts: Ferrol and A Coruña.

Starts

  • Start

    Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port

CaminoFinder maps the Camino Francés from here to Santiago de Compostela. The Cathedral does not require every pilgrimage to begin in this town.

    Getting to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port

  • Start

    Ferrol

Ferrol is one of two Camino Inglés starts published by CaminoFinder. It is not A Coruña, and the two approaches stay distinct until they meet later on the route.

    Getting to Ferrol

  • Start

    A Coruña

A Coruña is the other Camino Inglés start published by CaminoFinder. It is not Ferrol. The two approaches remain separate until they meet later on the route.

Joining point

  • Join

    Sarria

Sarria is a major joining point on the Camino Francés. CaminoFinder’s mapped Francés still begins in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and ends in Santiago. Many pilgrims join here for the last stretch; that does not make Sarria the start of the route.

Finish

  • Finish

    Santiago de Compostela

This is where CaminoFinder’s published routes end. The place guide covers the Pilgrim Office and the Compostela. This page is only how to leave.
